Tivoli Theater (and How It Was)

This version of the Tivoli was found in some very old photos; apparently from 1929 when Dr. Fu Manchu was released. I think it’s important not to whitewash our past, nor judge the people who lived in that time. Of course we would all like to imagine some sacrosanct version of ourselves; carrying our current morality deep into the past. But none of us know how we would have been in any given age with very few calling out the bigotry and inhumanity of the era and the those that did being ostracized or worse.

The marquee bridges this gap as my irreverent nod to the past; calling into existence today’s ethics into a distant world.
