While painting this dancer I tweaked my style a little, because this woman had loads of expression and energy in her performance that needed to be captured with a more intense rendering. Her dress reminds me of an ancient Greek citizen dancing for her gods. The body is elongated and distorted slightly to give extra emphasis to her movement; how she throws herself into this dance with abandon. It is easy to imagine her rising to the heavens in the midst of this dance.
